The Ghan
The Ghan is a luxury train that travels from Adelaide to Darwin over 2,979 kilometers. The journey takes three days and two nights and offers passengers the opportunity to see some of the most remote and beautiful landscapes in Australia. The train is named after the Afghan cameleers who helped open up the Australian outback in the 19th century.
The Ghan offers a range of accommodation options, including Gold Service and Platinum Service. Gold Service cabins feature a private en suite bathroom and toilet, while Platinum Service cabins offer extra space and luxury amenities such as a double bed and a separate lounge area. Passengers can enjoy gourmet meals in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant Car or relax with a drink in the Outback Explorer Lounge.
The train stops at several locations along the way, including Alice Springs and Katherine, where passengers can take part in off-train excursions such as guided tours of local attractions. The Ghan is an unforgettable way to experience the beauty of Australia’s outback.
